The Bronco Ford Wants You To Spend $75k On

The Ford Bronco has long been one of the company’s most popular vehicles, and you can buy several versions that have varying levels of trim and capability. However, Ford has now introduced a limited-edition version that’s going to cost you a lot more than the average for the others. In fact, they’re asking you to pay around $75,000 for this premium and enthusiast-oriented vehicle, but what will you get for your money, and what’s the story behind this 2025 Ford Bronco Stroppe Special Edition?

To start off – and as you’d expect in every Bronco – there’s a 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 engine under the hood. This generates 330 hp and pushes it through a seven-speed manual (for the two-door) or 10-speed automatic transmission (for the four-door). Then, to help convince you to buy this one, Ford reminds you of the past. Its marketers say that this vehicle celebrates Ford’s racing heritage and is the successor to the original Stroppe Baja Bronco from the 1960s and 1970s. The company’s plan is to recreate some of that “go anywhere” capability, and it has included several special features to justify the price.

For example, you’ll get a set of Fox internal bypass dampers, which are high performance and give you additional control during off-road encounters. This edition also has a standard stabilizer bar disconnect and the HOSS 3.0 suspension system. While you can also get HOSS 3.0 on the Wildtrack variant, this setup gives you a heavy-duty steering rack that provides a 40% improvement in maximum loading. The front suspension is independent, and the Bronco Stroppe Special Edition also has twin-forged and alloy-based A-arms alongside semi-active dampers.

The offer applies to some Bronco trims and for a limited time only.

Ford’s Bronco Stroppe Special Edition will also come with 35-inch Goodyear Territory RT tires as standard, and it’ll be available as a two- or four-door model. It’ll feature the Baja G.O.A.T. Mode, which is an electronic system that makes it easier to drive at high speed over rough tracks. This mode optimizes suspension performance, throttle response, and engine torque. The acronym, by the way, stands for “goes over any terrain”.

Your new off-road champion will feature removable side steps, unique to the version which comes with integrated rock rails, for added protection. It’ll have 17-inch wheels which have a matte black beadlock ring (to help prevent full punctures), and gloss black spokes.

Distinctive Exterior Styling

From the outside, this edition will certainly be distinctive. Ford has tried to mimic the livery of the original Stroppe Baja Broncos, including the heritage paint colors like Oxford white and Code Orange. The company says this is the first time Code Orange has appeared on a vehicle outside the Raptor family, while you can also get an Atlas blue-painted hard top.

According to North American design director Gordon Platto, the color combination of “Code Orange, Oxford white, Atlas blue, and Matt black was chosen very deliberately. “It’s an iconic design and the history behind it is so important to the modern Bronco,” he said.

Up front, Ford paints the hood a matte black color. This is another throwback to the original Baja Broncos, where the matte color was meant to mitigate the glare of the sun when racing through the desert. The front grille comes in frozen white with the Bronco name in Code Orange. This color also adorns the standard steel bumper and front tow hooks. Look for Stroppe Special Edition and Bronco branding on both sides and a matte black tailgate to round off the distinctive color scheme.

Interior Branding

On board, the Bronco Stroppe Special Edition has a white instrument panel, and you’ll find Code Orange accents throughout the cabin. The Bronco word mark is front and center and inside the grab handles, and you’ll even find it on the contrast stitching around the seats. To give you an even bigger reminder about why you paid $75,000 for this version, you’ll get a unique Stroppe Special Edition badge on your center console.

Other Standard Features

Look for a range of standard features that you’ll also find on other Bronco versions. These include safety considerations like the lane keeping system, cross traffic alert, pre-collision assistance with automatic emergency braking, and more. The Bronco has intelligent access with a push-button start, a variety of charging and connection ports, and a heated leather-wrapped steering wheel.

Packages to Look Out For

Standard packages include a set of auxiliary switches with pre-run accessory wires in your overhead console, and the Ford Co-pilot 360 technology suite. You can get a trailer tow-prep package as well as the cutely named “Sasquatch” package. Again, this option is also available on other vehicles in the Bronco range but includes larger tires, locking differentials, enhanced axle support, and high clearance suspension.

Bill Stroppe Was a Legendary Racer

In 1969, Bill Stroppe’s company prepared a Ford Bronco for the legendary Baja race, which really kicked off the Bronco’s legacy in off-road racing. Even though that achievement was to be the first and only outright win by a stock 4×4 at Baja, it certainly started something big.

Soon after the Baja win, an even bigger motor sports legend, Parnelli Jones, joined the team and, together, Jones and Stroppe won multiple races as a driver and navigator combination. They called their modified Bronco “Big Oly,” and it became almost as famous as the drivers themselves. The team not only won races around the Baja Peninsula, but also iconic events like the Indianapolis 500. Little surprise that a version of the Bronco Baja would arrive in Ford dealerships throughout the country and proved very popular among fans.
