Hyundai has announced pricing for the 2025 Sonata. Usually, when a new model year arrives, vehicles receive a minor increase. That’s not the case with the latest Sonata, which has a lower starting price for MY2025. How is that possible? The entry-level SE trim has been reintroduced, bringing Sonata ownership within reach of more customers. Very few changes have been made for MY2025. Aside from the new SE trim, SEL Convenience has become its own grade, while the Sonata N Line receives air vents for the second row. As a reminder, the Sonata was refreshed for the 2024 model year. All pricing mentioned below excludes Hyundai’s $1,150 destination fee.
The SE has a starting price of $26,650, undercutting last year’s base model by $850. It may be the base variant, but Hyundai has packed the SE full of features, including 16-inch wheels, LED headlights, and a raft of safety features. There are nine airbags in total, along with multiple driver assists. This includes smart cruise control, blind-spot assist, rear cross-traffic collision-avoidance assist, driver attention warning, and more.

Next is the SEL trim, which receives everything the SE gets, along with 17-inch wheels, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, dual-zone climate control, heated front seats, paddle shifters for the eight-speed automatic transmission, a center rear armrest, and laminated front side windows. This is arguably the sweet spot in the lineup for most buyers. All-wheel drive is also available at extra cost.

Plenty Of Trims And Engines To Choose From
Those seeking more luxury can opt for the SEL Convenience. This adds several nice-to-haves, including a panoramic sunroof, 18-inch wheels, a wireless charger, LED interior lighting, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a leather-trimmed steering wheel, and Hyundai’s digital key system. A 12.3-inch touchscreen with navigation is also standard. A sportier N Line trim is also available and receives aggressive-looking bodywork.
Performance-Oriented N Line Provides Sporty Thrills And Luxury
Beginning with the exterior, the Sonata N Line boasts an N-specific front and rear fascia, athletic 19-inch wheels, a subtle rear spoiler, gloss black window surrounds and side mirrors, and dual-exit twin exhaust finishes. Inside, the Sonata N Line is blessed with N sport front seats with microfiber inserts, aluminum pedals, a leather-trimmed N steering wheel, and a 12-speaker Bose sound system.
The Sonata is also available as a hybrid if you’re more interested in efficiency. The electrified variant is available in SEL and Limited trims, with the latter receiving wireless charging, power-operated front seats, Hyundai’s digital key, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. The Limited builds upon this with a memory system for the driver, rear sunshades, a power-operated trunk, a 12-speaker Bose Premium audio system, ambient lighting, a head-up display, panoramic sunroof, rain-sensing wipers, ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and a leatherette-trimmed dashboard. An array of driver assists are also fitted as standard.
All The Engines That Power The Sonata
As for engines, the SE, SEL, SEL AWD, and SEL Convenience are powered by a naturally aspirated 2.5-liter engine that develops 191 horsepower and 181 lb-ft of torque. This motor is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. Upgrading to the N Line nets you a turbocharged 2.5-liter engine that produces 290 hp and 311 lb-ft, and channels power to the front wheels via an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission. Lastly, the hybrid gains an electrified 2.0-liter mated to a six-speed automatic. This variant develops 192 hp. While the Sonata offers remarkable value, it faces stiff competition from Japanese alternatives like the hybrid-only Toyota Camry and the Honda Accord.
