New Vs. Old Comparison: 2024 Porsche Macan EV Vs. ICE Porsche Macan
The Macan EV will be produced in Leipzig, so you can forget about getting money back from the government. It’s a bit of a bummer because the Macan EV’s price is significantly higher than the good old-fashioned Macan. If you opt for a model powered by a dinosaur smoothie, the entrance cost is roughly $60,000, rising to $87,000 for the top-spec GTS.
The Macan 4 EV costs $78,800, while the Turbo retails for $105,300. These prices don’t include the standard $1,650 destination fee. Not only is it more expensive than the ICE Macan, but there’s significant overlap with the Cayenne and Cayenne Coupe. For $10,000 more than the Macan Turbo, you can get into a Cayenne GTS with a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8.
While going the traditional Macan or Cayenne route is attractive, we think the Macan EV works. Early adopters and existing Macan owners will likely make up the most significant portion of buyers. Some might even go into a dealership looking to buy an ICE model and leave with an EV instead.
Since Porsche has already sold 800,000 Macans globally, this car finds itself in a highly desirable position.
