Land Rover’s Latest Obsession With Stealth Comes To The Range Rover SV

Land Rover, particularly its Range Rover family, is synonymous with flashy appeal, primarily because they’re usually the chosen chariots of the rich and famous. Plus, they do look really expensive, and with high price tags to match. This time, however, Land Rover is going for a stealthy approach to its SUVs by introducing the Range Rover SV Black.

Mind you, Land Rover seems to have an obsession with stealth recently. It has only been a week since the British marque introduced the Range Rover Sport SV Black, then followed it up with the most extreme Defender, the Defender OCTA Black, after a few days. And just like those two, the Range Rover SV Black capitalizes on the popularity of the all-black theme with Land Rover customers.

A “Dark” And “Moody” Design Execution

The 607-hp, V8-powered Range Rover SV Black joins the SV Serenity and SV Intrepid at the top of the Range Rover lineup. Finished in Narvik Gloss Black, it comes with a deep, mirror-like finish, touted to be the darkest paint available for the SUV. Everything’s finished in black outside, including the 23-inch alloy wheels, Land Rover oval, grille, hood wordmark, brake calipers, and the ceramic SV emblem.

Mansory can learn a thing or two from Venuum.

Available in short and long wheelbase configurations, the dark theme continues inside. The Ebony Near-Aniline leather comes with unique perforation patterns and contrast stitching, while the single-panel seat covers, first used in the SV Black, exude a seamless, luxurious look. The Satin Black birch veneers, ceramic gear shifter, and expanded, often-used Moonlight Chrome detailing complete the “dark” and “moody” ambience inside the cabin.

Sensory Floor And BASS Technology

Apart from the stealthy theme, the Range Rover SV Black will debut what Land Rover claims to be the world’s first Sensory Floor Technology. The system uses transducers under thick-pile carpet mats in front and rear footwells, basically allowing occupants to “feel” the audio on their feet. It complements the Meridian Signature Surround system and Land Rover’s Body-and-Soul-Seat (BASS) technology, which places the transducers on the seatbacks.

It’s five years late, and in that time, it’s been to the desert and now to the pole – all to get the RR EV ready for the mall.

The availability of the BASS and Sensory Floor Technology depends on the Range Rover SV variant and wheelbase choice, with the short SV Black getting all the good stuff. However, Land Rover hasn’t released its pricing, but shared that it will become available late in 2025. By then, the entire Range Rover lineup (equipped with 22-inch wheels) will also get Pirelli P Zero tires, which have 70% bio-based and recycled content.
