Here’s How Much You Can Spend On A Fully-Loaded 2025 Toyota 4Runner

Just in time for the new year, the configurator page for the new 2025 Toyota 4Runner has gone live. This new model year marks the launch of a new generation for the legendary SUV, and introduces an available 326-hp turbo hybrid powertrain, so we feel confident in saying that this is the most exciting new 4Runner we’ve seen in a while.

As with previous 4Runners, the SUV is incredibly versatile, but you’ve also got you everything you need to transform it into the ultimate luxury overlander, with twelve trims to pick from and enough optional gear to supply a small army. So, if money is no object, what does the most luxurious and most capable 4Runner available have to offer, and what’s it going to cost us?

The New 4Runner Is Available In Twelve Trims

Note that none of these MSRPs include taxes, options, or destination charges.

The 4Runner comes with a substantial price bump this year, and you’ll note that the TRD Pro and the Trailhunter are priced at the same MSRP. Most of the differences are cosmetic, and both are capable off-roaders, but the TRD Pro is built specifically to be one of the best off-roaders available. The TRD Pro is aimed at the hardcore off-road crowd, while the Trailhunter is aimed at overlanders.

Beyond that, the TRD Pro’s skid plates are aluminum while the Trailhunter’s are steel. Both have leather-wrapped shift knobs, but the TRD Pro’s has red-striped leather, and includes a power tilt/slide moonroof with sunshade. You may have read that the Trailhunter has more ground clearance than the TRD Pro, but Toyota’s official spec sheets list both with an overall height of 74 inches for 2025.

Toyota recently published the pricing for the all-new 2025 Toyota 4Runner. The previous-generation 2024 Toyota 4Runner range kicked off at $40,705 for the rental spec SRT, increasing all the way to $55,170 for the top spec TRD Pro with all the off-road goodies you could possibly want. The comfort-biased Limited sold for $20 shy of $50,000. The pricing for the 2025 model has just been announced: The entry-level SR5 now costs $40,770, which isn’t a massive increase considering it’s an all-new model with a turbocharged four-cylinder that produces more power and torque than the old NA V6. In the mid-range, the price increases are more pronounced. The 2025 Limited costs $57,400, which is roughly $7,400 more than the old model, likely because of the i-Force Max powertrain. The big shocker is the TRD Pro, which costs $66,900. What Will It Cost To Finance A Fully-Loaded 2025 Toyota 4Runner?

Chances are you’re not going to be covering a seventy-five thousand dollar SUV with a single cash payment, which means we’ll be taking out an auto loan. If we assume a $10,000 down payment, 5% interest, and a five-year loan term, what are our payments going to look like?

With these terms, we’re paying a total interest of $9,763, which isn’t too bad over a five-year stretch. This gives us a loan breakdown of 12% on the interest and 88% on the principal.

Is A Fully Loaded 2025 Toyota 4Runner Worth The Price?

We set out to create the ultimate luxury overlander with this build and that’s what we did. All the accessories that you need to turn your 4Runner into a sort of pop-out RV are there. But, are we actually getting a good deal here, or are we just throwing money away?

We’re in roughly the same price range as something like a Jeep Grand Cherokee, with a 2024 4xe Summit Reserve 4×4 starting at $62,560. A 2025 Ford Explorer is a bit cheaper, with an ST RWD model going for $55,205. So, there are definitely more affordable options. It’s also possible to spend much, much more on an overlanding vehicle. A Ford Expedition Tremor, for instance, can easily top $100,000 with all the goodies added on.

But what we like about our fully-accessorized 4Runner is that you really have to go looking for useless features. Everything offered in the accessories shop makes sense to add to a luxury overlander, and it’s just a question of picking and choosing the right gear.

That said, there are plenty of features that may seem a bit pricey for their actual value. Do you really need a hundred-dollar ARB camp chair? It’s basically the exact same thing as a five dollar patio chair from the Family Dollar. Is a Dometic water jug worth seventy bucks when you’re just gonna drink right out of the two-gallon plastic jug you got at the gas station? We’ve seen plenty more useless car options than these, but in some instances it feels like you’re just paying extra for a brand name.

This is to say we like the base price, we like all the camping necessities like the inflatable shelter, but there’s no need to nickel and dime yourself on upmarket versions of stuff you can pick up for a fraction of the price at any Walmart in the country.
