2026 Audi A6 Goes Back To Audi’s Vorsprung Roots
The Avant wagon gets all the attention, but it’s the Audi A6 sedan that will end up in the most driveways. Audi has just revealed what it calls its Business Class model with one of its sleekest shapes ever. The new luxury sedan will also get cabin upgrades including new tech and more (and larger) screens, as well as more space to make sure that this executive express delivers maximum comfort.
In addition, its aero and design are outstanding, much like the remarkably slippery Audi 100 that the late, great Ferdinand Piech birthed.

2026 Audi A6 Is Bigger, Sleeker, More Stylish
Audi’s A6 Sedan is all-new and bigger than before. At 196.5 inches long, it has grown by 2.36 inches from the last generation. This makes for more cabin space for the driver and passengers. It also adds luggage space, now holding 17.8 cubic feet of luggage or whatever else you want to put back there. It even gets a 40:20:40 split-fold seat, something normally reserved for SUVs, and it has an optional kick-activated power trunk lid.
The new body doesn’t look like a wonder of aerodynamic design, but the wind tunnel shows a different side of the A6. Audi says that its 0.23 coefficient of drag is lower than that of any other internal combustion car it has ever sold. Air curtains move the wind around the front wheels, active intakes behind the grille direct it around the engine bay, and a front spoiler plus flat underbody panels work together to smooth the airflow there, too.
Slicing through the air does more than just boost efficiency. It also makes it more silent inside, something Audi has worked to enhance with up to 30 percent more sound insulation and tighter window and door seals. Even the transmission gear teeth have been optimized for cabin silence.

Now where’s the V8?
Adaptive air suspension with ride height adjustment will be optional. It is always lower than the steel spring suspension, and drops even more in dynamic mode and at speed. All-wheel steering will also be optional to help the big sedan maneuver in tight city spaces.
While Europe will get diesel and mild hybrid models, the US will not. The single offering at launch will be an A6 with quattro AWD and a 3.0-liter TFSI V6. The V6 makes 362 horsepower, and will have a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission instead of the torque converter automatic we expect in this class. That is slightly more power than the 335 hp of the outgoing model in 55 form, and we expect S and even RS models to follow with even more. The lower-powered four-cylinder variant is gone.
Some Of The Best Tech Won’t Make It
Some of the new model’s most interesting tech features won’t be crossing the pond, and that goes beyond under the hood. We didn’t expect Audi’s adaptive matrix lights, but we will miss active digital light signatures and car-to-X communication.
The driver will get an 11.9-inch screen with the latest version of the Audi virtual cockpit. The center screen for the MMI system is 13.4 inches, and there will be an optional 10.9-inch passenger screen. Dynamic privacy mode means passengers can watch videos without the driver seeing.
A new head-up display will include the usual speed and navigation instructions. Drivers will also be able to control vehicle functions on the display instead of having to look down at the dash. Audi says the visual size of the display is 85 percent larger than before, making it better to use.

Only a handful of cars in the world would beat it.
Luxury features include 16- and 20-speaker Bang & Olufsen audio systems with up to 810 watts of power. They also include headrest speakers for personalized surround sound and for sending phone calls and navigation directions directly to the driver’s ears.
Audi expects the 2026 A6 to hit the US in the second half of 2025 – though that could be significantly altered due to ongoing tariffs, leading to Audi recently pausing shipments of all models to the US until further notice.
