Brabus Will Give You The 700-HP Wagon Mercedes-AMG Won’t
It’s been less than six months since Mercedes-Benz launched the latest E53 sedan, and about a week since it revealed the station wagon version that is coming to the US. German tuner Brabus hasn’t wasted a moment of that time. Instead, it has spent it working on a new performance upgrade package for the E53 that gives it more power than the V8-powered AMG E63 versions that came before.

More Boost Means More Horsepower From The I6
To build this Brabus 700, the company starts with its own plug-and-play control unit, which brings custom engine maps and increased boost. It bumps the 3.0-liter inline-six of the E53 from the factory 443 horsepower up to an impressive 530. Torque is way up, too. The engine used to make 413 lb-ft, and now it makes 487.
The electric side of the system hasn’t changed. The electric motor adds 161 hp along with 354 lb-ft of torque. The 28.6 kWh lithium-ion battery is still the same, so when you’re looking to be more eco-friendly than fast, it should still deliver the same 42 miles of range.

Out of all the German tuners out there, Brabus stands out with lineup of crazy creations.
Total output from the system is 691 horsepower and 627 lb-ft of torque, well up on the 577 and 553, respectively, of the standard car. Brabus claims a 0-62 mph drop from 4.0 to 3.6 seconds, with a top speed limited to 174 mph.
Height Adjustable Suspension And Styling Upgrades
Brabus doesn’t stop with the engine. It has added height-adjustable springs that can drop the ride height from 0.6 to 1.2 inches on demand. The company said it makes the handling “even more dynamic,” as well as improving the stance.
It comes with a new carbon fiber front splitter that Brabus says increases high-speed stability. There are also carbon fiber air intake surrounds to update the car’s face. The side skirts and rear diffuser are also carbon, with four 3.5-inch titanium and carbon exhaust tips poking out of the rear.

The Classy Side Of Brabus You Didn’t Know Existed
While Brabus is mostly known for its high-powered conversions of Mercedes cars, it also restores classic cars.
Brabus adds fender flares in the form of new carbon extensions. It also offers five wheel designs that help fill those arches. The sedan in the photos gets the Monoblock Z and the wagon wears the Monoblock M design. Continental and Hankook performance tires are offered.
Then, of course, you’ll find all of the Brabus badge goodies. Illuminated stainless-steel scuff plates, Brabus velour floor mats, the big B grille badge, and even Brabus pedal pads. If those cosmetic changes aren’t enough, but you do want a more special feel, the company can transform the interior. New colors, new quilting patterns, and more. The sky is the limit. And presumably, so is the cost.
