While far from cheap, the four-door 8 Series is available for almost $50,000 less than the comparable M8, which makes it far more attainable, and no doubt a very tempting option indeed for those fortunate enough to be considering a luxurious four-door coupe in 2025.

Audi RS5 Sportback

This slick V6-powered offering is the 2025 Audi RS5 Sportback, and it sports twin-turbochargers which help to churn out a tire-shredding 444 horsepower. However, looking to reduce tire-shredding antics is Audi’s renowned Quattro all-wheel-drive system, which features in all RS models, with the RS5 being no exception. As has become the norm for most AMG-tweaked models, a highly strung inline-four takes care of motivation, and with 302 horsepower on tap, motivated it certainly is. The all-important 0 to 60 mph dash is dispatched with in only 4.8 seconds, and while the CLA 45 is even faster still, the $56,100 starting price of the 35 model is much easier to swallow than the faster grade’s $67,050.

Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class

While the 2025 Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class doesn’t boast the heady outputs of its AMG-tweaked counterparts, it does still sport a 221-horsepower inline-four, which is plenty powerful enough for a 4-door coupe with compact proportions such as this. As standard, those horses are sent directly to the front wheels, although Mercedes does offer its 4Matic all-wheel-drive system as an upgrade. At $44,400, this is the cheapest entry-point to sports coupe ownership from the three-pointed-star brand, although that doesn’t mean it comes poorly equipped – the cabin is packed full of tech, with features such as power-adjustable front seats, dual-zone climate control, a panoramic roof, and dual 10.25-inch digital displays appearing as standard.
