Rezvani’s 935-Inspired RR1 Supercar Is Getting A Face Transplant
About a year ago, oddball car customizer Rezvani – you might recognize their SWAT-like SUVs – showed a modern Porsche 911 with a load of details from the classic Porsche 935 racer nicknamed Moby Dick. It called the car the Rezvani RR1 and said it had plans for production. Now, the car builder is getting ready to reveal the final version with a new and even more retro front end.
Rezvani’s carbon-fiber rebody of the 992-generation Porsche 911 added the giant tail and widebody rear of the legendary Porsche race cars of the 1970s, including the factory 935 as well as the Kremer Racing evolutions. Those long tails were designed for a higher top speed on the track, along with more cornering force. The original cars were not as successful at Le Mans as hoped, but they sure looked great while breaking down.
RR1 Teases An Even More Retro 935-Inspired Nose
The RR1 revealed by the new Rezvani Retro brand last year had the headlights of a current 911. The lights were two of very few components that looked like a stock Porsche part, but based on the teaser the company has just dropped, the flat lamps are gone.
Instead, Rezvani has latched onto that 1970s Porsche look even more firmly. The teaser is just a silhouette, but the upright headlights and flat fenders of an old 911 are obvious from miles away.

Rezvani has made one other big change to the RR1, but this one comes from leaving something out. It had originally planned an RR1 550 model based on the Carrera S with up to 550 horsepower. That model, along with the GT3-based RR1 565, are both gone.
600 and 750 HP Versions Planned
Instead of the low-power models, Rezvani has added the RR1 600. It is based on the 992 Carrera with a 3.0-liter flat-six turbo engine and will make 600 horsepower. The car will be rear-drive, and Rezvani can do the conversion to a stick or the PDK automatic.
The top-of-the-line model is the RR1 750, which uses the 3.8-liter engine from the 911 Turbo, boosted to 750 horsepower. This one is, like the car it’s based on, PDK-only.

Production of the two cars is limited to just 50. That’s total, not each, so the split on this retro ride will depend on the buyers. Rezvani didn’t announce a price this time either, though it said last year that pricing would start from $149,000. That’s before the new face, which will likely cost more since it doesn’t use the standard 911 front lights, and you need to supply the 911 yourself.
Last year, Rezvani also said there would be plenty of juicy options available. Öhlins Motorsport dampers, upgraded brakes, and even polycarbonate windows were all available.
