Best Cars Priced over $300,000 | 2024 Ratings

Welcome to automotive royalty. Once you’re talking about the best cars over $300k, you can expect unsurpassed standards of design, craftsmanship, performance, and prestige. Some of the cars here cost $500k or even more, but that’s how much the top one percent is willing to pay for them. These vehicles are less about A to B transportation and more about making a statement, and the category includes contenders from Bentley, Rolls-Royce, Cadillac, and Ferrari. Many are rare and built in limited numbers, while other $300k cars will likely spend most of their lives in temperature-controlled garages. We’ve been lucky enough to drive a few of the best cars for $300k, so let’s find out more about them.

Vehicles are assigned a BuzzScore in relation to their direct segment competitors, and as such, vehicles in this list, while similarly scored, do not necessarily compete directly against one another. Find out more about how the BuzzScore ratings work

1 Bentley Flying Spur

Although the base Flying Spur sedan is priced closer to $200,000, the more exclusive Mulliner variants cost upwards of $300,000. That includes the Mulliner W12, which has a 6.0-liter twin-turbo engine producing 626 horsepower and 664 lb-ft of torque. It’s barely quicker than the cheaper V8s, but the W12’s sense of occasion matches the Bentley’s grand entrance you’ll make each time you drive up in this posh sedan. It’s equipped with every conceivable luxury, is surprisingly fun to drive, and yet wafts down the highway in near silence. Rolls-Royce sedans are better for rear-seat comfort, but the Flying Spur is the grand sedan you’ll want if you prefer driving yourself.

2 Rolls-Royce Spectre

We were fortunate to get the chance to drive this landmark car from Rolls-Royce, the brand’s first production electric vehicle. To drive, the Spectre is remarkably similar to gas-powered Rolls models, which isn’t surprising since you can barely hear their engines anyway. Dual electric motors produce 584 hp and 664 lb-ft combined, so acceleration is utterly effortless. Those motors are concealed in a stately coupe body, complete with self-closing rear coach doors. But the star of the Spectre show is its spectacular interior. Quality is unparalleled, comfort is sublime, and the available color schemes and materials are such that no two examples of the Spectre are expected to be identical.

Expert Opinion

“Accelerating in a Rolls-Royce is all about the feeling of effortlessness, and the Spectre captures that essence perfectly. A quick tap of the throttle can easily leave the road-going peasants in the Spectre’s wake. In fact, the electric motors need to be ‘detuned’ so as not to jolt occupants with too much acceleration force.”

3 Bentley Continental GT Convertible

As with the Flying Spur, only the most luxurious Continental GT Convertibles surpass the $300k mark. That illustrious group includes the W12-powered Mulliner and the well-specified Azure. It doesn’t really matter which Continental GT Convertible you go for, though; all of them are luxurious drop-tops that exemplify the good life. Bentley has once again done a fine job of tuning the chassis, creating a car that glides down the road but that manages to involve the driver in proceedings, too. The attention to detail in the interior is brilliant, but it’s a pity you still need to pay for certain driver-assistance features. That won’t bother anyone who can afford this special car, though.

4 Bentley Bentayga

Every single Bentley Bentayga bar one costs under $300k. The only variant that exceeds this mark is the Mulliner V8 model with the extended wheelbase. This is the model to get if you will be chauffeured, as it offers more rear-seat space than the regular Bentayga. The brand’s big W12 isn’t available in the SUV, but few will miss it thanks to the twin-turbo V8’s 542 horses. A top-class sound system, bespoke cabin materials, and an adaptive suspension leave no doubt that this is a special vehicle. It could be argued that the Bentayga looks a little odd from some angles, but it certainly looks expensive, and that’s probably more important to the target market.

5 Bentley Continental GT

Bentley’s premier coupe combines luxury, style, and status to great effect. Several models cost in excess of $300k, including the Mulliner (V8 and W12). The Mulliner specification ensures that buyers can access the brand’s coachbuilding division, allowing one to end up with a completely unique coupe. But even if it were finished in plain white with an all-black interior, the Continental GT still has many other attributes that go beyond its design. The engines are smooth and powerful, the ride/handling balance expertly judged, and the interior reeks of quality. It sets the standard for gas-powered grand tourers.

6 Bentley Continental GT Speed

The name says it all: the Continental GT Speed unlocks maximum performance from this classy coupe. It also receives a series of darker finishes for a moodier, racier look than standard Continentals. A limited run of GT Speed Edition 12 coupes were built to celebrate the exit of the mighty 6.0-liter twin-turbo W12 engine, and these coupes produce a staggering 650 hp. The 0-60 time is estimated to be in the low three-second range, which is some achievement for such a large, comfortable mile-muncher.

What To Consider When Buying A Car Over $300k

Aspects like practicality and value for money matter little in this segment. Pros:

  • Unrivaled luxury and brand status
  • Powerful and highly refined engines
  • Exceptional ride comfort
  • Some high-end supercars are thrilling track toys
  • Ravishing designs

Cons:
