Tesla’s Latest Updates Make EV Ownership Easier Than Ever
Key Takeaways
- Tesla’s latest software update will be rolled out, which will include navigation system improvements.
- A new mobile app notification for tire servicing will also be added, a crucial update for EV owners as tires wear out faster.
- No specific timeline for the update rollout, but it will be soon.
The latest Tesla software update has been leaked, giving us a preview of the improvements to the Texas-based automaker’s EVs. Not a Tesla App shared the release notes for update 2024.32 via Elon Musk’s own social media platform, X, covering updates that are quite useful for users who daily drive their Teslas.
Available for the Tesla Model S, Model 3, Model X, and Model Y, software update 2024.32 has already been rolled out to company employees. The independent Tesla-focused software tracker added that it will soon reach customers through the usual over-the-air update and will be free of charge. It follows another major software update in June, which included quality of life improvements for the entire Tesla lineup.
Useful Navigation Updates
According to the release notes, one of the major updates will be the addition of “Construction on Your Route” to the car’s navigation system though an icon on the map. As the name suggests, this should give users an idea on which roads to avoid real-time, since construction sites almost always pop up unannounced.

The update for navigation will also come with predictive text, which should assist drivers when entering their destination on the screen. Even better, this feature will be available even without Tesla’s Premium Connectivity. Another feature added to navigation will be “Search This Area.” Just like how it works for Google Maps, this feature will allow users to zoom in or out of the map to refine their searches.
Other Incoming Updates
Apart from the updates on Tesla’s navigation system, the upcoming software release will be adding a mobile app notification for servicing your tires – either for tire change or tire rotation – quite an important update given that EV tires wear out more quickly than their ICE counterparts. Not a Tesla App says this will be a mileage-based reminder to be set by the user.
